This caricature of Labour politician Herbert Morrison, Home Secretary in the wartime coalition, was probably executed c. 1950, when Morrison, who had organised Labour's victorious 1945 election campaign, was serving as Leader of the House of Commons and Deputy Prime Minister in Attlee's governments of 1945–51. It was included in a mixed exhibition of work by cartoonists Joss, Ross, Walter Trier, Vicky, Victoria and Mark Wayner at Ben Uri in 1950, when it was listed as belonging to Mr and Mrs B. Press.
