Originally created in 1952, this woodcut was included as illustration 7 in Jacob Pins 'Landscapes', published by The Dvir Publishing Co in Tel Aviv in 1955. In his introduction to this volume, Eugene Kolb, Director of The Tel Aviv Museum, observed that the boats in this work 'astonish one by their monumentality, which is convincing in spite of the simple subject'.
