Frank Rosen
Rosen realised the need to devise new ways of exploring and enhancing the exciting emerging mixed media genre he was devising. To achieve this aim Rosen, together with Dutch engineer W. E. Schellhorn of Johannesburg, South Africa designed and built a new generation, electrically powered etching press which aroused much interest amongst other artists and craftsmen. On emigrating to England in 1961, Frank shipped the press which weighed nearly 2 tons, to his studio in London.
