Paula made this watercolour while on holiday with her daughter in Ventnor. I can’t remember if she posted it to me or gave it to me on return. In later years, after it was no longer possible for us to travel abroad, she would be driven by her daughter and cross on the car ferry to the Isle of Wight. This drawing was made in 2017 or 2018. It doubles as an illustration for a story of mine called ‘The Mermaid from the Azores’
