Provenance
Collection Towner Eastbourne
This was No5 in the Third series of lithographs produced by J Lyons & Co. Ltd to decorate the walls of the teashops. The original painting (No. 34 in this exhibition) would have been copied onto a lithographic plate to be printed by Chromoworks Ltd, London. Barnett Freedman oversaw all the lithographic processes and contributed his own designs to the project which was highly successful and included the important contemporary illustrators and artists of the day.
