Chaim Icyk Bermant (1929–1998) was a prominent Anglo-Jewish journalist, author and wit. Born in Braslava, Latvia, he spent much of his childhood in Scotland, graduating in economics from Glasgow University and the London School of Economics. He was a member of the Ben Uri Council between 1975 and 1977, a regular contributor to 'The Jewish Chronicle' and occasionally to the national press, particularly 'The Observer'.
