This work was exhibited at Ben Uri Gallery's annual exhibition in Dean Street, Soho, in 1976 when Barry Fealdman, former Secretary of the Society, and co-selector of the exhibits, remarked in the 'Jewish Chronicle', that 'Skiers' confirmed Kopel's reputation as 'an artist of authority'. In his solo exhibition at Ben Uri in 1974, Peter Stone had observed in the 'Jewish Chronicle' that Kopel was 'a gentle, quiet, soft painter with a good colour range from the pretty to the sombre. He uses blocks of colour, well related, with which he builds up landscapes. Other pictures go further with a dreamlike quality', something of which is captured here.
