In this second image of refugees, Herman depicts three generations of one family, resting, exhausted, among their meagre belongings. This watercolour formerly belonged to Hungarian refugee and gallerist Agi Katz (1931 Budapest, Hungary - 2021 London, England), a close friend, and dealer of Herman’s work, who championed the work of Jewish refugee and immigrant artists to Britain - passing from one refugee to another.
