Join guest curator Una Richmond and Mengting Yu, author of "London’s Women Artists, 1900-1914", for an illuminating presentation about the history of the Women's International Art Club.
Una Richmond completed her MA at the University of Sussex in 2016. Her dissertation analysed the 1974 Women’s International Art Club exhibition entitled ‘The Feminine Eye’. She completed her PhD in 2023 with the thesis ‘No Second Sex in Art: The Women’s International Art Club 1950-1978. Una is interested in questioning canonical art historical narratives and restoring the visibility of twentieth century women artists through the study of all-women group exhibitions. Her article ‘Strength in Unity: post-war sculpture in the Women’s International Art Club, 1950–1970’ was published in the Sculpture Journal in March 2023.
