A Curatorial Introduction to Cosmopolis: The Impact of Refugee Art Dealers in London

Helena Cuss is the curator of Cosmopolis: The Impact of Refugee Art Dealers in London. The interplay between diasporic artistic networks and the internationalisation of twentieth-century art markets is also the focus of her doctoral research, which will be completed in September 2024 at Kingston University. Prior to this, Helena was an Assistant Curator at the National Portrait Gallery, where she worked on exhibitions including David Hockney: Drawing from Life, Love Stories: Art, Passion & Tragedy, Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits and Everyday Icons: Collecting Popular Portraits.
