The exhibition catalogue accompanied the exhibition held at Ben Uri in summer 2007, which surveyed the work of London-born artists Leon Kossoff and Euan Uglow; Michael Andrews, who grew up in Norwich and arrived at London's Slade in 1974; Lucian Freud and Frank Auerbach, who escaped the Holocaust and arrived in London from Germany in 1933 and 1939; and Ohio-born Ronald Kitaj, who came to London in 1959 to study at the Royal College of Art.
