The Ben Uri Story

This fully illustrated catalogue was produced for the exhibition at Philips (now Bonhams) in London in 2001. Artists' biographies and numerous reproductions of works from Ben Uri's collection accompany different essays on the history of Ben Uri, for example a chapter about Ben Uri founder Lazar Berson's life, and an interesting chapter about Barry Fealdman's time as Ben Uri's secretary and curator, shaping the Ben Uri Art Society and resulting in his nickname 'Mr. Ben Uri'. Included are essays written by John Russell Taylor, Brian Sewell, Peter Gross, David Mazower, Professor Lisa Tickner, Julia Weiner and artist David Breuer-Weil.
