Shifting between the figurative and the abstract, Menachem Lemberger offers us a brightly coloured, bird-eye view of a village by the sea. The small houses, nestled together towards the centre of the composition, work to organise an otherwise purposefully disorienting space, dominated by the expansive blue of the seawater. While the houses are depicted using distinct blocks of colours, both for the water and the fields surrounding the village Lemberger applies multiple layers of differently coloured pastel, eager to convey a sense of the changing state of nature.
