Allin's naive style earned him success within the Folk/Outsider Art movement in Britain, particularly for his series of lithographs looking back to the East End of his childhood. 'Jack's Coffee Shop', one of this series, shows a traditional working men's cafe with high-backed wooden booths, large tea and coffee urns, a 'chips- with-everything' menu and walls adorned with posters of East End boxing champions.
