Draughtswoman Susanna Jacobs was born in 1966 in London. She took a foundation course at Camberwell School of Art in 1985, followed by a degree at the Slade School of Fine Art (1986-1990), after which she participated in a 21-day drawing masterclass at the Fondazione Antonio Ratti in Como, Italy, where she was named a prize winner. She exhibited at Gruzelier Modern and Contemporary Art, London (1992-93) and with Vargas, London (1993). In 1995 she was one of five artists selected to be featured on the Channel 4 programme ‘Inside Art’ and participated in the subsequent exhibition at Soho House in London. She had her first solo exhibition of drawings at the University of North London’s Warehouse Gallery in 1998. In 2000 Jacobs was the inaugural artist at the opening of the domoBaal Contemporary Art Gallery. She lives and works in London.
