Polina Egorushkina is a London-based artist from Moscow. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, she relocated to London amid growing censorship and political pressure.
Polina works both individually and as part of Pomidor Duo, an art group she co-founded with Maria Kroll in 2018. The duo focuses on creating text-based textile flags. The group’s latest project addresses societal silence in response to political violence. In her individual practice, these themes shift into a more personal and
intimate space of reflection. The practice is centred on large-scale watercolour on paper: an ongoing series structured as a sequence — a visual diary in which meaning is formed through rhythm, repetition, and montage. Her watercolours become a space of uncertainty, where political experience transforms into bodily, emotional, and speculative imagery.
