Hekimi's work is characterised by dramatic titles and a rhythmic and decorative content influenced by Persian art. The term 'Grande Peur' (Great Fear) has roots in the French Revolution, referencing a general panic between July and August 1789 but here referring clearly to the panic and mayhem of the Second World War. Hekimi typically intertwines people and animals - some winged - mixing elements of Surrealism and fantasy.
