The right and left panel of this triptych are densely constructed with collage into which are woven the paraphernalia of war. The central panel opens out to reveal a path, a way through. On the path is depicted a sepulchral figure with arms outstretched representing Faith. This recent exodus of refugees comprises people of many nations who have drawn on their diverse religions to give them the strength to carry on. Writing in the sky emphasises the subject matter and in the central panel the lament “Why have you forsaken me?” adds poignancy to the work.
