Frank Rosen
In February 1966 the South African Jewish Times commented in its art column in response to Rosen's black and white pen and ink drawings exhibited at the Peter Wenning Gallery Johannesburg: ‘The black and white drawings reveal another side of Frank Rosen's art. In each study, the subject is drawn in detail, with the surrounding not simply subdued but often eliminated from the scene. This heightens the effect. Rosen blends economy of detail with a softness of line and an imaginative use of space that touch our senses in a way few drawings do.’
