In the exhibition brochure for ‘The Romantic Revival’ Rosen describes the creative process through which he brought the following three series shown here into being. The Butterfly Series depicted in oil on board, The Halloween Series depicted in oil on canvas, and the LA Yacht Series depicted in oil on board.

‘I wanted to be my own master, my hand sowing its own seeds, reaping from my own fields whatever crops the seasons might bring. In aiming for a Romantic Revival, I sought to depict a poetic, vibrantly lyrical, fantasy world. To live in these realms is to perpetuate children's dreams holding aloft the limitless speculations of free association unfettered unstructured this established unconventional, conveying buoyant playful pictorial events.’
