"Aunt Sarah Gave Her Daughter in Marriage to Ivan" continues the Aunt Sarah series. I made the first version of "Aunt Sarah Gave Her Daughter in Marriage to Ivan" a long time ago, before moving to England. The small kitchen board was populated by characters from my Moscow circle. The second version was sold in 1992 at the Summer Exhibition at The Royal Academy of Arts. The owner agreed to loan for my exhibition at Ben Uri Gallery in 1993. This last work was made in 2017, and among the fictional characters, one can spot some familiar faces.
